"Austin Stephan Hess is the designer and heart and soul behind Holloywood Hess. Born and raised in Vancouver, WA, Austin later moved San Luis Obispo, CA to explore life and to start acting school. While attending his second semester at Cuesta College Austin and good friend Scott Dozier noticed many beautiful young ladies walking into one of the classrooms. Curiosity and the male libido led them to investigate further. Their investigation conviced them that this would be a wonderful class to attend. The class was Introduction to Fashion Design 101.
After two weeks of attending class and being fascinated day after day by the fashion world, Austin began to eat, sleep, and breath fashion design. After spending two and a half years attending fashion and business classes at Cuesta College, Austin discovered a desire to travel and venture to Austrailia, New Zealand, and Fiji. While on his adventure in the land down under he was introduced to a new way of fashion and started an enormous rush of inspiration.
Returning to the states a few months later, Austin started working and saved up money to buy a crude screen printer and an ancient sewing machine. It was a start. His first creation consisted of mens blazers bought from thrift stores with the first of his trademark designs screenprinted and embroidered by hand on the jackets.
Austin was able to grab the attention of Jake Wade, one of San Francisco's newest and hottest club promoters. After a visit to San Francisco, Austin was convinced to sell all of his belongings and move to California to follow his dream. While in San Francisco Austin and Jake were able to combine their expertise in the fields of fashion and night club promotions and brought San Franciso an entirely new concept of partying in style. Photo shoots in the clubs with models, drinking, and dancing in the jackets and other fashionable garments designed by Austin made people see that these jackets were about feeling a certain way when you wore them. Their trendy fashion designs later sparked a wild fire throughout the San Franciso night life scene.
Within eight months, Austin's confidence had skyrocketed and he decided to move to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, he continued with his crazy fun loving ways in the clubs; partying and networking to form connections within the fashion industry. Within three months Austin had made connections with a variety of people and was now being approached by many to customize their garments.
Out on the town one night in Hollywood, CA he was introduced to club promoter that had convinced him to throw his first runway fashion show. Shortly after that Austin met a gorgeous female model by the name of Britni Hall. Britni wanted one of his custom fashion creations. Two weeks later Austin met Britni at an event for her birthday with a custom blazer in hand. She now had her custom Hollywood Hess designer blazer. Upon seeing the garment she explained how much she loved her jacket and how amazing it was. The next day she told Austin she wanted to help him follow his dream.
Austin took her up on her offer. Together they created five different fashion shows at five different night clubs in Hollywood and at the POOL Fashion Convention in Las Vegas, NV. At the second fashion show, Austin was approached by an investor who asked him if he was ready to take his designs to the big league. Ready to go and fueled by ambition, he was finally ready to share his fierce new creations with the world by designing a mens blazer line that held royalty and respect.......Hollywood Hess....The Gentlemen's Jacket"
